NWCG & NIMS ICS Classes
In addition to in-person deliveries, we have converted many courses to a virtual delivery when and where we can meet the requirements of NWCG and FEMA.
Clackamas Fire is partnered with Clackamas Community College (CCC). CCC has a memorandum of understanding with Pacific Northwest Wildfire Coordinating Group (PNWCG) to deliver NWCG wildland fire courses. All of our courses and instructors meet or exceed NWCG standards PMS 310-1 and PMS 901-1.
We also have an agreement with the Oregon Office of Emergency Management to deliver FEMA NIMS ICS and Position Specific classes.

Required/Recommended Training

Course Delivery Methods
In-person (Face to Face): Traditional learning, measured by "required in-person meetings" incorporating lectures, laboratories, field days and/or simulations at a designated location.
Remote/VILT (Virtual Instructor Led Training): Online course that eliminates geography between instructor and student. A web-based, technology enhanced course facilitated and driven by an instructor, using tools such as ZOOM and Articulate 360.
Hybrid (Blended Delivery): A multi-format course that requires a combination of delivery methods. For example, VILT/Online lecture in combination with required In-person meeting(s) between student and instructor.
Self-paced (Independent Study): Students complete course at a distance, with limited to no instructor interaction to drive the course.
** National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) certificates are issued upon successful completion **
